Core competencies of undergraduate public health officer program
Undergraduate public health officer is expected to:
Assess community health needs and priority problems
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate
Collect, document, process, analyze, disseminate and
Conduct or coordinate continuing education, and training Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient service.
Perform minor surgical and obstetric procedures
Perform medical diagnostic& therapeutic procedures
Early diagnosis, basic treatment and referral of difficult cases
Mobilize individuals, families and communities
Promote and be engaged in inter-sectorial activities.
Conduct and participate on operational health research.
Implement PHC activities
Organize a team to prevent and control disaster and emergency situations
